Calling by Joe Samuel Starnes is a luxurious read. The writing is elegant and lush, and makes use of a cool device - the story within a story.
The dialogue is first-rate.
The most enjoyable aspect of this book for me is Mister Starnes' sense of place. He gives the reader the feeling that they were born and raised in the setting.
I'm looking forward to more from Sam Starnes.
